America Wood lies hidden on the out skirts of Shanklin on the southern side of the island. No one, even my most trusted island guides knows why this beautiful little wood gained its name. It is managed by the Woodland Trust and has many areas of magical trees. The winding path leads down to the ancient oak, and holly, which undoubtedly guard the entrance. Their branches reach out and entwine with each other.

The hazel copse lies down in a magical little valley within the wood and the hazel lines the banks of a pure spring stream. The energy here is very faerie and private. The essence was laid and the shafts of sunlight settled directly on the essence giving powerful solar rays to “cook” the essence

The healing attributes of Hazel:
The inspiration of Hazel comes from the link to wisdom and creative thought. The Druids revered Hazel as a wisdom tree, associated with salmon, and the intuitive gifts of water. It is brain food, and the cobs were put into the essence to carry this energy forward in the essence.
This essence is very helpful in giving positive direction to ideas and the actualisation of those plans.  If there is timidity in approach, Hazel will help dispel foggy thinking. It will help bring skills to the fore.
It can help stem menstrual flow.
